Shortly after starting my day this morning, one of the first thoughts that came to mind was, ugh, it’s Monday again. I feel this way quiet often. In fact, it wasn’t until a few years ago that discovered that I was suffering from something called the “Sunday Scaries”’. Even though it’s called Sunday Scaries, it affects me and carries over on Monday’s as well.

Many years ago, I would notice how anxious and sad that I would get with every hour on Sunday’s, beginning as early as breakfast time. I tried to think of things to combat the feelings by finding different types of things to do like visiting my parents, going on walks, and taking one of my special nice warm bubble baths before bed.

Sometimes, my ideas worked, and sometimes they didn't. Eventually, I realized that the best medicine for me was to take Monday's off! But I knew that I couldn't always do that. And maybe I didn't want to work at all, but we know that we all have to do that, and that it’s part of our responsibility to do so.

So what can we do? We must be brave and get through the days, nights, weeks, months, and years as best as we possibly can. Find out what works best for you, whether it’s prayer, meditation, holding space in nature, taking “me time” or self care, practicing mindful breathing or yoga, reading, playing sports, spa time, etc.

Listen to your self…take breaks, take time off from work…take time for yourself. It’s extremely important that we all have our moments and give time to ourselves.

With this, I am reminded of a proverb: “Physician, heal thyself”.

Peace, blessings, and light,
